A CALL FOR COMMUNITY INVESTORS The Santa Ana Police Foundation is seeking to build a relationship with individuals and businesses who wish to become investors in our community. In just a few short years the Foundation has accomplished much, in spite of these tough, economic times. For example, we have raised funds to purchase a variety of tools and equipment for the Police Department which were not covered by the severely cash-strapped city budget. We have conducted BERT (Business Emergency Response Team) training courses for local businesses to help them become independent during and after a natural or man-made disaster. (The Fifth Academy will graduate on July 26th, 2012). We have also supported youth programs such as the Police Explorers, Citizen Academies, and GRIP, all  youth gang prevention programs. Beyond these on-going programs, we have been called upon by the Police Department to help raise awareness and funds for victims of crimes. Specifically, last year, the Foundation raised funds to help a homeless, wheel-chair bound Vietnam Veteran who had been robbed. And, most recently, we responded to a request from the Police Department to raise funds for the Osmara Meza family who were the tragic victims of a drunk driver, hit and run accident. As the community becomes more aware of the good work being done by the Foundation, so does the public’s expectations grow. So far, a small but committed group of business leaders, educators, and houses of faith have volunteered to address the needs of police-centric programs and community outreach. However, in order to meet these ever-growing needs, we must find both significant funding and additional volunteers. Please join us in our mission to serve the community! We encourage you to contact Mr. Bill Cunningham, President and CEO, to discuss where your heart may lie in contributing to the great work the Foundation is doing. Mr. Cunningham will help you discover where your niche may lie, and how you too, can “be part of it.” 714/972-0200 www.sapdf.org Santa Ana Police Foundation | ...bringing Police, Business and Youth together. www.sapdf.org The community has been wonderful.
